So, you’re feeling burnt out at work. Listen, it happens. One day, you’re excited about your new job. You’re feeling creative and doing the thing you told yourself you’d set out to do, but then the next, you feel tired, over worked and all out of new ideas. It’s time for a change. Not for a job change! Instead, I want you to try to breathe some life back into your job. Fall in love with your job again with these simple tips. Check them out and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section.
Take Some Time For Yourself- When your working non-stop with no days off, it can get to you. If you’re able to take some time off, do it! A personal day might be all you need to feel refreshed for work again. All it takes is to take a step back sometimes. The cards seem to fall into place on their own. Consider this the next time you feel burnt out and tired of your job.
Ask For What You Want- Instead of keeping things all bottled up till your exit interview, ask for what you want right now. It could save you a headache in the long run. Your boss isn’t exactly a mind reader, so better speak up now than regret it later. It might ease the burn out!
Do What You Love First- It’s easy to get distracted by the more mundane work tasks. Sure the emails seem endless and the meetings never-ending, but it’s time to focus on the parts of your job that you love instead of the negative. Try keeping the emails in your inbox for a second and work on the part of the job that you love. We taught about delayed gratification from a young age, but maybe it’s time to gratify ourselves a little faster—especially when it comes to our work.
