I don’t know about you, but the end of the year has me reconsidering everything in my closet. There are some pieces I just can’t bear to part with (like my shoes, below, which feel a little more like art than footwear). But there are some things that just need to be given a new home. And, with that, a new space is made for next year’s wardrobe. A time and a place for everything, right? So I went looking for closets to inspire this overhaulf and found inspiration on Instagram by way of @laclosetdesign. If you don’t follow Lisa Adams yet, trust me, you’ll want to after this. Read on for some key organization tips for the end of the year. Make way for good things, my friends, and they shall come. Trust me.
Luxe Closets to Inspire a New Year’s Cleanout
As you can see above, I believe in displaying special pieces. Even if you don’t wear them everyday, they can serve as inspiration for the general feel of your wardrobe. Someone put their heart into creating these pieces and they should be displayed as such.
The same goes for collections. As you can see below, I am a handbag addict. So I tend to display my bags by size, color and occassion to help me recall what I have in store. Just be sure to use a gentle cloth now and then to keep dust from settling in.
Below, I’ve rounded up a few of the images I came across on @laclosetdesign to inspire more organization in the year ahead. Do you have any of your organization tips? I’d love to hear them. Let me know in the comments.
First, organize by color. The photo shown below sets a great example of how easy it is on the eyes when garments are sectioned off by hue. This makes pieces way easier to find in a pinch.

Next, make sure your hangers are all facing in the same direction. It’s just simpler and helps items glide more easily. Take a look at these luxe velvet hangers in white.

Finally, give accessories their own space. You don’t want them to get tangled up with other items, or worse, lost. A pop of color and some delicate details give the space a feminine personality.
