MAIC 2017: What’s Your Vision With Market America?

Every year when I head to Market America International Convention, I am more inspired than the last. Not only do I love all of the new products, programs, incentives and ideas – but it’s the people! The sheer energy and enthusiasm that fills the arena leaves me rejuvenated and ready to make the most out of my own career. When we started Market America all of those years ago, we had a vision and over time that community has grown, the business has evolved, and we’ve all had new ideas and inspirations, but our goals and values have never wavered. Lives have been changed by Market America, families have come together, but the vision still hasn’t changed. When I think about entrepreneurism that’s just it – your own passion and commitment to seeing a dream come to life is where it’s at. It’s why Market America has been such a success – we’ve never backed down, we’ve always believed in our team and our dream and we’ll never stop driving with passion first. We had a vison…..what’s your vision? How do you see yourself turning your passion into reality? Here’s a few ways I’ve stayed inspired along the way.

Never take your sight off the ultimate goal. That goal will be different for everyone and completely dependent upon what you want to accomplish, but whatever it is – it’s yours. Keep your eye on the prize, never look away and don’t let anyone get between you and that destination. There are going to be tough times. There will be times when the goal will feel so far away, you think you’ll never get there. Don’t stop. Don’t let anyone tell you to stop. Just keep plugging along. You will get there.

Surround yourself with like-minded people. You want to feel inspired rather than dragged down? Find other people who share your passion or your idea of success. Get on board with them. Work with them. Bring them onto your team and into your circle. Passion drives passion. Creativity drives more ideas. You’ll feel lifted up and inspired by people who share your level of drive and commitment. Don’t be afraid to expand the team.

Ignore the haters. It’s going to happen. People are going to doubt you. People are going to try and bring you down. People are going to turn their heads, walk away and say no. That’s OK. You want to be connected to the people who support you, love you, want your product, love your product and become your product evangelists. Those product evangelists will grow your business for you….they’ll sing your praises, they’ll tell a friend, that friend will tell a friend…it’s like a game of telephone. Focus on the people who help you grow and who are interested, ignore those who want to drag you down.

Don’t ever lose your sense of self. You are ultimately the only one who can turn your dream into a reality. It’s your dream, your commitment and your ideas that will drive your business and turn your vision into real life – be cautious of losing yourself along the way. It gets tough. When your business starts to thrive and grow, many people will want to jump on board. They’ll want to infuse some new ideas (which may be great), but don’t forget to maintain your sense of self even when things are rapidly growing. Keep your eye on that vision. Maintain your values. Do not waver from your original goal. You are worth it. Your dream is worth it. Lots of people will come and go, but in the end you have yourself to face. Stay strong.

Are you working on launching a business? What’s your vision?
