Today we remember a great man who brought about some of the most significant social changes in American history and I urge you to honor Dr. King’s legacy in your own lives every day. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a true activist for a generation that suffered greatly from inequality and without his leadership our country wouldn’t be where it is today.
Every person deserves the same treatment and the same possibilities for their future regardless of their circumstance, their ethnicity or their personal preferences – like my husband wrote earlier today, we need to “[make] the most of our opportunities while following his message of acceptance, equality, and love.”
By following MLK’s message and remembering his sacrifices we can make a difference. Live in a place of love for others and we will get there!

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
