Tonight’s BET Awards opened up with the fabulous and unstoppable Mary J Blige singing Real Love. I love Mary’s soulful music and I was so excited to see her open up the show with Real Love. The always fun and eclectic Nicki Minaj wins for best female hip hop album, can you blame her?
Minaj said, “I can’t believe for the first time I get to share a moment like this with the person who saw me rapping on a staircase,” Minaj said of Wayne, who was incarcerated when she won the same prize last year. “Lil Wayne, I love you.”
No one was safe from host Kevin Hart who had everyone laughing and a little scared hoping that he wouldn’t pick on them. One of my favorite skits is probably the ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’ Kevin Hart and Nick Cannon were too funny.
Jaden Smith and Willow Smith were also early winners. The son and daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith tied as winners of the Young Stars award. My girl Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland both gave breathtaking performances love them both, they are so amazing!
