Do you forget to take care of yourself? Sometimes, it’s easy to forget ourselves with everything that goes on during the day. We have to take the kids to soccer practice, on top of that, someone needs help with homework and there are errands to run. Not to mention dinner! When do you find the time for yourself? I know it can be hard, but if you don’t find the time, you might find yourself battered and tired. Give yourself a moment to think about you for once! Below are some ways that you can practice self-care on a daily basis.
Read for Entertainment- When was the last time you read a book that had nothing to do with school? Indulge yourself and sink into a new novel for pure enjoyment. Pick up that book that you keep putting down for one reason or another and finish it! You’ll be surprised by how easy it is to get this self-care practice done.
Make a Plan- Humans are goal oriented. One thing that you can do is make a list of all your life goals. Pick one feasible goal and figure out how your going to get it done by the end of the year. Take a small step every days. (it could be one hour out of your day to grow your business). It’s all in your hands. Not only will doing this make you feel accomplished, but it will also make you feel good about yourself.
Dress Up and Look Good- This is my favorite thing to do. Dressing up and looking good for oneself brings a certain level of self-esteem. Take a little extra time on your makeup and choose your outfit with care. Decide on a look that makes you feel good. You’re taking time for yourself by doing this. Take a final look in the mirror. I’m sure you look great.
Go Outside- Not only is this great exercise, but it forces you to interact with the beautiful world out there. Just a short walk around your neighborhood where you take a look at all the gorgeous things around you will help you feel more mindful.
Remember, these are just a few things that you can do everyday to practice some self-care. You deserve it!
