I am saddened to report this terrifying news as it still does not seem real. The death toll is nearing 30 now as 20 children and 6 adults were murdered at 9:35 this morning in Connecticut after 20-year-old Adam Lanza walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and opened fire. It is being reported that the shooting was in a specific area of the building, mainly targeting two classrooms with three different automatic weapons.
The gunman was pronounced dead on the scene and there is also a secondary crime scene in Newtown where another adult was found dead, possibly the mother of Adam Lanza as there are conflicting reports about where her body was found – she was a teacher at the school. His brother, Ryan Lanza, has been picked up for questioning in Hoboken, NJ.
Children are precious angels and this is an horrific story, a tragic loss. Parents have had their babies stolen from them and there are few words for this unspeakable crime, only tears and prayers for a shocked community. Please keep these beautiful children and their families in your hearts.
