It seems lately wherever you turn there’s talk about women in business. Women who are shaping the business world, women who are changing the face of business, incredible female entrepreneurs and so on – it’s incredible! The other part of the conversation: the disparity between the salaries of men and women and how to break that barrier down. Despite that ongoing challenge, there are loads of women making headlines for their part in the ever evolving business landscape – and, you know what? There are specific industries (and even jobs) that rank as the best-paying jobs for women in 2015. A recent article by Forbes magazine took a look at data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and got down to the details. Here’s a quick look at that study and what that means for women in the working world.
The Best Paying Jobs for Women
Forbes’ annual study ranks which professions are paying women the most by “tracking the median weekly earnings of full-time wage and salary workers in 2014, broken down by gender and occupation, and excluding occupations that employed less than 2,000 women last year.” As it turns out, “careers in science, engineering and healthcare” dominated the rankings.
