Best Places To Live In The US

While we all love our hometowns, some of us have big dreams to move cross-country or simply explore a different state or city. From coast to coast, the United Stated is packed with gorgeous country, sparkling cities, picture perfect coastline and high mountain peaks. But, which spots are the best U.S. states to live in? We each may have our own opinions about that, but each year surveys are performed to determine which states offer the best of all worlds: living, working and playing. Also factoring in crime rates, health care, local attractions and the quality of environment, here’s a look at the top 5 2014 U.S. states to live in according to CNBC. 1. Hawaii – While it may be tough to find that corporate job in business that pays top dollar, the live and play aspects of Hawaii life are off the charts. Warm weather, sandy beaches and sunny days make Hawaii a number one spot for living the good life.
  2. Vermont – The snowy winters may not work for everyone, but wow – the clean air, beautiful natural wonders and slow pace of life make Vermont a destination for many – so why not stay? Low crime rates, healthy and active residents and simply perfect country are reason enough to make Vermont your happy home.
  3. New Hampshire – A lot like Vermont, this snowy state gets a tad chilly during the winter months, but the stunning nature makes up for it. Super low crime rates and pretty relaxed pace of life make the granite state a sought after destination both for tourists and residents alike.
  4. Minnesota – Known as the land of 10,000 lakes (because there really are more than 10K lakes!), Minnesota offers striking countryside and many natural wonders. With the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul) offering cosmopolitan benefits like a great restaurant and business scene, residents can get the best of all worlds – live, work and play.
  5. North Dakota – Clean, crisp air makes North Dakota a destination worth checking out. Known as the “Peace Garden State,” great economic growth coupled with low crime rates and healthy, nice people – this state is one worth considering for a growing family.

Do you live in a state that made this list? What’s your favorite part about where you call home?
