With New York Fashion Week in full swing the busiest women in fashion Anna Wintour has been spotted in and out of Lincoln Center on various occasions. I thought it would be enlightening to share Anna’s importance to the fashion industry and how the high-queen of haute couture preps for work every morning.
The most powerful woman in fashion Anna Wintour, 59, has been editor-in-chief of US Vogue Magazine since 1988. It is Anna Wintour who decides when green is the new black, she’s notorious for her icy glare and has named the nickname “nuclear Wintour”.
Who can blame her right–the fashion industry is one of the most fast-paced, stressful environment and she reigns over it all. Even the higher ups in the fashion will do anything she says at the drop of a hat. She’s just THAT powerful. So how does one exactly deal with that much power?
Now, we finally get the chance to observe a slice of her upscale, fast-paced life. She agreed to a camera crew filming her production of the 2007 September issue of Vogue and two years later, director RJ Cutler has finally finished the final cut. It’s not a reality show–Anna’s too classy for that. It’s a documentary to show viewers exactly what goes into producing a full issue of Vogue.
Her assistants are the writers of the hit film Devil Wears Prada, of which Anna is undoubtedly the inspiration. We finally get to really see all that goes on behind the cat walk in a real life Devil Wears Prada. Anna Wintour the highest paid fashion editor in the world with a reported salary of $2 million dollars a year and a $220,000 clothing allowance, I always seem to wonder what goes behind the scenes during Anna’s off hours and what is her take on the fashion industry and her position. I guess we will not be finding out soon but one thing for sure Anna has revolutionized the fashion industry as we know it!
