While we anxiously wait for the weekend to relax, many of us we forget why it’s important and instead continue with the same routine followed on the weekdays. As creature of habits, stepping outside your comfort zone isn’t easy and trying to do something different just because it’s the weekend, well it takes time. Weekends aren’t just meant to tell us we’re off from work, it also gives us time to reflect and recharge our batteries for the upcoming week. Just because it’s the weekend doesn’t mean you have to go out and party… right? Here are my five R’s of things to do on the weekends!
5 Things I Love to Do on the Weekends: My 5 R’s
on a bike ride in Battery Park with JR
- Recharge: Recharge your mind and body. Take some time to meditate and clear out your mind. By doing a few yoga sequences you’ll be able to do both at the same time.
- Reflect: Look back at your past accomplishments, things you could have done better, opportunities you missed and things you wish you didn’t do. Take time to reflect and write notes on how you can improve.
- Relax: Let yourself go. Read a book, get a massage, do anything that will make you relax and distress.
- Return: Fun part of having the weekend is you have time to do personal things for yourself you didn’t have time because you were caught up with work. Take time to return a phone call to a friend, return that dress you bought and perhaps you didn’t like and of course anything you can do to give back.
- Remind: Call attention to those things you forgot to do over the week. Remind others how much you love them. Refresh your memory with new and old goals.
