The most dreaded and anxious question in a job interview is, “What are your weaknesses?” Many job seekers feel anxious about this question as they see their weaknesses as insurmountable obstacles. The reality is that you can improve. Learn to stay above the competitive margin with these helpful tips
1. Be honest with what your weakness are. Don’t play games with yourself. If you are a person that is punctual, don’t kid yourself into thinking that you are just a little tardy. If being stands in the way of you hitting the mark, be honest. Train yourself to be on time.
2. Put a plan in a place to improve. Okay, so you have recognized what you need to work on. Recognizing is not enough. Now you must begin to act. Be realistic. Do not try to improve over night. Do not create an unrealistic plan that you will follow for less than three days. You do not want to set yourself up for failure. Remember, baby steps lead big strides.
3. Practice. Practice. Practice. Your weakness may be procrastination. Give yourself mock deadlines. Begin with something as simple as replacing milk before you run out or create a calendar circling important dates appointments that you must keep yourself accountable to.
4. Realize that things take time.
5. Have fun making the changes. Improvement is always a good thing. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You will make mistakes. It is okay. You are doing a great thing. Practice makes perfect.
