Summer is a time for weddings, which is great because I love a good wedding. I love noticing sweet details and cool elements in weddings that totally personify the bride and groom. One way that a bride can totally bring in her personality is through her “something blue” element. It’s a small tradition, but a tradition nonetheless. I love seeing unique and different “something blues,” that truly stand out. When you’re planning your wedding, why not get creative with this detail? Embroidered- Don’t you love this little embroidered detail? It might be something blue that only the bride will see but it’s very sweet. I would suggest getting this sewed into your dress. Maybe you can add your new last name or your wedding date.
A Sweet Memento- The bride below used her dad’s shirt as her something blue. She sewed it into her dress and created this sweet heart. Using a small sentimental “something blue,” is a great way to incorporate something meaningful into the tradition.
Dyed Hair- This cool maid of honor was willing to dye her hair a bright shade of blue in order to comply with the wedding details. Not all bridesmaids would be willing to do this, but if you’re having a funky wedding it won’t hurt to ask!
Shades Of Blue Dress- incorporate that “something blue” into your dress by getting one that’s a light shade of blue. Something so off-white that it gives your wedding an icy theme. If you’re willing to let go of that wedding white dress, this is a cool option.
Blue Snacks- Who says that your “something blue” needs to be a part of the wedding ceremony itself? Serve some blue shaded snacks at the reception.
Nail Polish- I’m not saying that you should go for some bright blue nails. Something simple with a blue detail might be more wedding appropriate while bringing in that “something blue” element in an unexpected way.
