When it comes to the month of February, we all have Valentine’s Day on our minds. It’s a great reminder to tell the people we love just how much and why we love them in addition to doing something special. Whether you’re Valentines are romantic or just close friendships, family members or your kids, finding unique ways to say I love you can be so much fun. Looking for a few ideas for this year’s Valentine? Here are some sweet ones to get you started.
8 UNIQUE WAYS TO SAY “I LOVE YOU”
1- Do something simple for one another that helps out in a huge way. Is your guy the one who typically takes out the trash or the recycling for trash day or is he usually the one to make the coffee in the morning? Surprise him a couple of times a week by emptying the recycling bin or waking up early to start the coffee. He’ll feel the love for sure.
2 – Make a special meal. Sometimes nothing says love as much as cooking a nice meal – whether it’s breakfast on the weekend or pizza night on Fridays – your whole family will appreciate it. If it’s something romantic you’re after, make it extra special with candles and chocolate dessert too.
3 – Sneak a card in their lunch bag, pocket or drop it in the mail. A simple card to say I love you feels so sweet and special. Even your kiddos will love finding a little note in their lunchboxes, just a simple reminder to feel loved.
4 – Text little love notes throughout the busy workday. It doesn’t take much, but a little note reminding that special someone how much you care will go a long way. Just by sending a sweet emoji or a simple “xo”, they’ll know you’re thinking of them.
5 – Surprise your loved ones with special small gifts. They don’t have to be expensive, but coming home to a special gift every once-in-a-while feels so good. Try little things like a book, a new pair of socks, some fresh flowers….it’s an easy and fun way to say I love you.
6 – Years ago, it was easy to say I love you by making a mix tap, or a CD of special and meaningful songs. Today, there’s playlists! Make your boo a playlist to get totally melty over.
7 – Plan a super early a.m. date to go watch the sunrise together. Make it extra special with a homemade breakfast when you get home.
8 – Turn your smart phone off for one whole night. This is a tough one and more many of us, the ultimate form of I love you! It can be super challenging, but also super liberating….and gives you all night with undivided attention on one another.
