Hello from Turks and Caicos! I feel so blessed to have been able to get away with my family for a few days of rest and relaxation. Following our business trip to London last week, JR and I took off with the kids to a different kind of getaway. We may have a mobile office with us at all times, but vacations are also necessary to health, productivity, and prosperity. I’m sharing a few thoughts on this just ahead (along with some photos!).
Why Vacations Are Completely Necessary
#1. They rejuvenate you. Working all the time can yield some big results. But it can also wear you out. Don’t underestimate the power of a good break in the rhythm.
#2. They help you reconnect with the people you love. Making memories is priceless, and if you can do this once a year, even for just a few days, you’ll feel all the better for it.
#3. They help you reconnect with yourself. This is so important. A quiet moment with yourself is powerful. A whole week of opportunities to reflect is unstoppable.
#4. They are healthy for your mind, body, and spirit. Stress is awful for your health. So even if you can just take a day or two in your own backyard (figuratively and literally), you’ll be doing yourself some good.
#5. They re-energize you and fill you with new ideas. I can’t tell you how many times I come up with huge ideas when I’m resting or vacationing. Getting a change of scenery can do BIG things for your inspiration.
