When you’re dating and trying to find “the one” you have to ask the right questions. I’m not talking “how tall is he or she?” or “what’s his/her job?” Sure, those questions are essential, but sometimes you need to dig a little deeper. You want to find the right traits to make sure you’ve got a quality significant other. That’s why the website Well and Good turned to six experts to find out what you should be looking for in a partner.
Why Meghan Markle Got it Right While Vetting Prince Harry
My favorite answer came from The Bevy, a New York-based matchmaking firm. Their answer? “Kindness—and we mean genuine kindness—is not a trait that all people have, and it’s probably the most singularly-important quality that our members look for. Because we are so picky about who we take into our membership, we will not work with anyone we don’t deem a genuinely kind soul.”
Remember back when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry got engaged? The two interviewed with BBC. Meghan admitted that when vetting Prince Harry; her first question was “Well, is he nice? Because if he wasn’t kind, it didn’t seem like it would make sense.” It looks like Meghan was right all along. Kindness is so important in a significant other. Altruistic tendencies make people seem more attractive according to a study. So, the next time you’re getting set up with someone or have a big date, dig a little deeper to find out what makes them tick.
