Who runs the world? Today, I wanted to spotlight women who have changed history for the better. These women have used their brains, wits and personalities to change the world, society and the like. They’ve paved the way for future generations, and started revolutions. Get inspired by these female game changers.
Oprah- She’s the queen of all media and an all around lady boss. She’s been teaching us some serious life lessons and is a spiritual force. This woman has been such a huge part of American pop culture. She’s definitely left her mark.
Marie Curie- Marie Curie is a Nobel Prize winning chemist and physicist. She coined the term “radioactivity” and was a pioneer in discovering new elements, plus she was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in two areas.
Mary Anderson- After she was banned from singing at Constitution Hall by the Daughter’s Of The Revolution, Eleanor Roosevelt dropped her membership and had Anderson perform a concert in the Lincoln Memorial. Mary Anderson was the first African American woman to perform at the Metropolitan Opera.
Kathryn Bigelow- There are so few female directors running Hollywood so it’s important to give the spotlight to one lady who’s a two time Oscar winner and talented director. She was the first woman to win the Best Director Oscar for a war movie. We’ve got to give her some props.
Rosa Parks- She’s wildly regarded as the catalyst for the civil rights movement, all for refusing to move from her seat. She’s inspires me today and will continue to inspire people as things in this country change.
Lucille Ball- Who says women aren’t funny? Lucille Ball was a comedienne extraordinaire. She’s paved the way for future female comedians. Without her, we might not have some funny women on screen and on TV today.
Toni Morrison- She was the first African American female to win a Nobel Prize in Literature. Her novels continue to be praised time and time again. She is a truly amazing woman.
