Many of you may know that my husband and I founded Market America and along the way my brother & sisters and 3 close friends joined us to work at Market America with us. Today I have close friends who work with me on various brands and support us at our company. For me to work my absolute best, I must surround myself around individuals who believe and support me in my visions. Who better than family and friends?
However, in order for the business relationship to be successful without straining your personal relationships, there are a few tips that I suggest for you to follow. These are just a few that I have acquired on my journey.
1. Have a clear path of communication concerning expectations from both individuals. Business expectations are different from personal expectations. Both individuals must be on the same page.
2. Establish clear boundaries. This is a must.
3. In conducting business transactions and receiving input; accept opinions suggestions, proposals without bias.
4. Never let the business relationship interfere with your personal relationships. Opinions, disagreements, ect have to be respected in the appropriate space without carrying it over.
