One of my favorite parts of summer is that when the sun comes out and the air turns warm, suddenly wedding season is in full swing. From beach weddings, to traditional fetes to destination nuptials – summer is often a flurry of wedding invites. The problem (and I know I’m not the only one), is that sometimes you just can’t make it to all of them. Well, according to some recent statistics from Ustream, the popular video streaming service, live wedding webcasts are up 250% in just ONE year.
Would You Live Stream Your Wedding?
As it turns out, there are some pretty tech savvy couples out there and many of them are making sure that friends and family who couldn’t make the event are able to watch it live from the comfort of home. According to Ustream, in one year (May 2012 – May 2013) live wedding broadcasts jumped from 7,800 to nearly 20,000. Now that’s pretty impressive! Using laptop webcams and smartphones, couples are streaming their nuptials for virtually no cost. Between Ustream, Skype, I Do Stream and HangWith – the options for live streaming are pretty endless.
Would you consider live streaming your wedding for those who couldn’t attend the actual event?
