The world is officially mourning yet another Hollywood breakup. This time, it’s between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. It breaks my hear to see these two, who always seemed so in love, end their relationship. Yet, sometimes it’s what’s best so, for now, we’ll all just have to accept it. With such a high profile couple, lots of questionable rumors tend to circulate. So, for the time being, I want to go over what we know has happened. Read on to learn more about the Brad and Angelina breakup (forever to be known as Brangelina).
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce against Brad on September 15th citing irreconcilable differences. The two have been together for a over ten years, meeting on the set of their film “Mr & Mrs. Smith.” Pitt became the father of Jolie’s adopted children, Maddox and Zahara. Soon after the two adopted Zahara in 2006, Jolie confirmed pregnancy rumors. Their daughter Shiloh was born in May 2006 and son Pax was adopted from Vietnam in March 2007. Jolie gave birth to twins Vivienne and Knox in July 2008.
In 2012 the couple announced their engagement. Pitt was there to support is actress wife when she went for a double mastectomy 2013. Finally, the two married in 2014 and almost a year to the day, Jolie filed for divorce.
“This decision was made for the health of the family,” Robert Offer, an attorney for Jolie told reporters in a on statement Tuesday. “She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time.”
Ever since the news, the media has been speculating. Some say their differences are due to their different parenting styles, while others refer to Brad and another woman. Whatever the reason, I hope that these two are happy with their decision. It’s going to be a long road but I see an even brighter future for the two of them.
