It’s really been a tough weekend. No one could have foreseen the disaster that Harvey brought to Texas this weekend. My heart is with everyone hurting right now. I know this can’t be easy. Know that we’re praying for you, Texas. Our hearts are with you right now.
Hurricane Harvey Devastates Texas
11 trillion gallons of water were dumped over South Texas this weekend as Hurricane Harvey stalled over the state twith Houston hit particularly hard. Many Texas neighborhoods are still buried in water right now as torrential rain and heavy winds pound the state. Thousands were rescued in Houston last night and now more cities are bracing for the worst as the days continue.
The good news is that many organizations are trying to help the best way they can. Facebook activated its “Safety Check” feature to help those affected by the storm assure loved ones their safe. Airbnb is offering accommodations and waiving fees for Texas residents in need of refuge.
