My girl JLo has already donated a million dollars to help Puerto Rico after it was slammed by Hurricane Maria. But this isn’t stopping her from doing even more to help those affected by natural disasters. It was announced that Lopez along with rapper Jay Z, Cardi B and DJ Khaled will perform as part of Tidal x Brooklyn, a yearly event that this year will benefit the victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria as well as the earthquake in Mexico.
Jennifer Lopez and Fat Joe to Perform at Tidal Hurricane Relief Concert
Other performers helping to raise funds include Fat Joe, Remy Ma, Kaskade, Daddy Yankee, Yo Gotti, A$AP Ferg, Vic Mensa, Fifth Harmony, Joey Bada$$, Willow Smith, Belly, Iggy Azalea and Jessie Reyez. Other big names announced to be taking part are the night’s host Angie Martinez as well as special appearances by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Rosie Perez. Tidal teases that more names will be added as they become available. Beyonce, who was rumored to be headlining, is not attached to the event as a performer or special guest as of yet.
All net proceeds will be donated to natural disasters relief and recovery organizations. Rolling Stone says they include Global Giving, All Hands Volunteers, Kids in Need Foundation, Direct Relief, One America Appeal, Greater Houston Community Foundation, American Civil Liberties Union and Miami Community Foundation among others.
Tickets to the concert held in Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center on October 17 are $56.00 and can be purchased via this link. So proud of you, JLo and Fat Joe. You guys are so generous and loving. I can’t wait to support you through all your endeavors—especially this one. Our hearts go out to you Puerto Rico.
