NFL Welcomes First Female Coach Ever, Jen Welter

When you do what you love, it can break barriers. And no one knows that better today than Jen Welter, the new Arizona Cardinals Assistant Coach for the preseason. Welter is believed to be the first female coach of any kind in the history of the NFL. But her achievement is not without merit. Welter played pro football for over 14 years with the Dallas Diamonds, part of the Women’s Football Alliance, and helped lead them to four championships. Welter also played a position as running back for the Texas Revolution, part of the Indoor Football League, as the first woman to play a non-kicking position in a men’s professional football league. It seems that trailblazing comes naturally to Jen Welter. What a role model!

In her new job, Welter will be working with inside linebackers. We can’t wait to see how her career continues to progress. Congratulations, Jen Welter! You are an inspiration to women everywhere, showing us all that doing what you love and working hard at it absolutely pays off – and breaking boundaries while doing so is inevitable!
