Mark Zuckerberg’s second in command, Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg is featured on this week’s Business Week’s issue. The cover story titled, ” Why Facebook Needs Sheryl Sandberg” explains how the Harvard MBA graduate is providing adult supervision at the social network giant, how she focuses on solving the problems of users, advertising, partner websites and overseeing thousands of employees while managing a growing number of over 640 million users.
“No one needs a Sandberg more than the company that currently has her. In the three years since Sandberg, 41, defected from Google and joined Facebook as its COO, she has helped to steer the company to previously unimaginable heights, devising an advertising platform that’s attracted the world’s most largest brands and forging a remarkably trusting partnership with Mark Zuckerberg,” notes Business week.
I think, Sandberg is a leading example of a powerful woman and her achievements are making a positive impact on young entrepreneurs. A Harvard grad Sandberg was Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google. Prior to Google, Sandberg served as Chief of Staff for the United States Department of the Treasury and ranked #16 as one of the Fortune Magazine’s 50 most powerful women in business.
