Pretty cool, right? Long gone are the days of spending hours making mix tapes and mix cd’s – now we just build playlists and share them with friends via Messenger. It’s incredible!
While “the integration doesn’t allow you to actually play Spotify music inside of Messenger, at least not yet, but it does allow you to share tracks, playlists and artists within message threads. Once you’ve selected Spotify, you can search the app as you normally would to find an artists or playlist or song to share back to Messenger. If the recipient has the Spotify app on their device, they can open the Spotify content directly in the app. Shared songs will begin playing automatically once Spotify opens.” (via Mashable)
When you think about how far all of these social media channels have come in the past few years, their capabilities are astonishing. Adding a feature to share our favorite tunes with friends – icing on the cake of a pretty cool tool many of us use daily. Do you think you’ll start sharing songs asap?
