The more Instagram continues to update its algorithm, the more nervous influencers and Instagram brands are becoming. Their biggest fear? Waking up one day in 2020 and discovering Instagram disappeared overnight. The solution? You have to start monetizing
1. Finetune your Instagram account.
What’s your brand mission, your values, and your tone of voice? Who and why should people follow you? Once you have a clear idea of all of the above, you can tailor all of your content accordingly in a clear brand voice.
2. Analyze your followers.
If you haven’t already, switch to a business Instagram account now. Know your followers inside out via regular use of Insights. Who are your followers? Where do they live? What do they follow you for?
3. Listen.
Use polls and quizzes on your Stories to get to know your followers better every day. Listen to what they want to see more of from you, and tweak your Instagram strategy accordingly.
4. Brainstorm.
Once you’ve taken a few weeks to understand your followers and what the majority want from you, it’s time to brainstorm ideas for how you can monetize your account. If you’re a fashion blogger, for example, with an engaged following, who want to shop your look, get in touch with RewardStyle to start making money from affiliate links within days. If you’re a semi-pro surfer, launch a swimwear line. Whatever your passion is for which you’re known for, do that!
