We’re all aware of Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ (I’m addicted to these) but there are a number of other up-and-coming social networks that are going to make it big in 2012. I use Facebook and Twitter on an hourly basis every day to interact with fans and share my blog posts, however, multimedia-focused social networks are growing rapidly in popularity. This means less words and more pictures making it even more instantly gratifying and visually appealing to communicate with followers.
- Pinterest. I asked my followers on Twitter yesterday about Pinterest and received hundreds of replies about how addicting “pinning” can become. An interactive pinboard for everything from weddings to cookbooks to interior design, this social network has made it easy to organize and share the things you love online.
- Instagram. Instagram already has a huge following and has reinvented the notion of photo sharing. Forget the digital camera and editing software because the free Instagram app and it’s quirky filters make it a cinch to take, edit, and share photos right on your iPhone and publish straight to Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
- Pose. A free and new app for iPhone and Android, Pose is becoming the social shopping network of choice for those who are obsessed with sharing fashionable outfits and daily shopping finds. “Pose is the best way to share and discover style” and has been featured in Glamour, WWD and Mashable.
