Tips for an effective business meeting
- Be clear about what is expected from each person at the meeting beforehand. An employee who doesn’t understand why he or she was requested to be present is more likely to zone out and be unprepared.
- Have a goal or objective for every business meeting and stick to it.
- Keep the business meeting short but thorough enough that progress is made.
- Write down who is going to do what as decisions are made and email it directly after the meeting so everyone is held accountable.
- Follow up according to deadlines and/or timelines outlined during the business meeting.
