If you haven’t seen the latest news (or all the great teasers on social media), my girl JLo and Lin-Manuel Miranda teamed up to release “Love Make the World Go Round,” a collaborative track penned to benefit victims of the Orlando mass shooting at Pulse nightclub last month. The hit song is the perfect combo of Miranda and JLo, and according to news sources, “Miranda lends his famous rhymes to the single’s tightly-coiled stanzas, while Lopez unleashes her honeyed vocals for its tropical-inflected hook. “We’re not staying inside today, they’re not taking our pride away,” she sings.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, “All of its proceeds will go to the Hispanic Federation’s Proyecto Somos Orlando, an organization that will provide “long-term needs for mental health services that are culturally competent and bilingual,” as well as case management and crisis intervention, according to its website.”

There’s nothing as horrific and disappointing as the violence we’ve been facing lately – and the victims and families of the victims in Orlando have undergone unfathomable tragedy. Seeing celebs like JLo and Miranda come together to raise funds for those suffering is commendable and necessary. The words they sing in this track, Love Make the World Go Round are so true. We all need a little more love and a lot less violence.
