While on vacation in Japan, the Youtuber decided to get a full on Japanese makeover. Check out her full video below.
Vlogger Tries Tokyo Street Fashion and the Outcome is Surprising
The results were startling. When most people think of Tokyo street fashion, they think of Kawaii, which is an overly kitschy-cute style, or Lolita style but the truth is Japanese style is all over the place.
Safiya tried three different styles. Vintage Remake Style, which is all about recycling vintage clothing into new styles, making a very one-of-a-kind style. Mode Style is dark, minimalistic centered on layering black on black. Finally, Safiya was styled in the Colorful Layered Style. All of these styles had two things in common: loose fitting and layered. Tokyo street style is about creativity and bringing different patterns and textures together. This is very different from American style, which at the moment, is about figure-hugging silhouettes.
