Ah, sugar. I know I’ve had times where I’ve been super addicted. That sweet tooth just does not quit! Yet, there are so many negative effects the ingredient can have on the body. An addiction to sugar can lead to rotted teeth and breakouts, not to mention damage to your internal organs. Sugar resembles cocaine in many ways and can have a similar effect to the body. Stop Drinking Fruit Juice- Sugar is found naturally in some foods like fruits, but that isn’t the case with fruit juices. These juices have tons of added sugars, so just getting these out of your diet will significantly help. I’d also suggest leaving wine and soda for one day of the week. Save that glass of wine, ladies. I suggest aiming for some water instead.

Keep An Eye on Labels-  According to the American Heart Association women should only consume 25 grams of sugar a day, which isn’t much if you think about it. That’s why it’s important that you keep an eye on labels when it comes to processed foods. Check out how many processed foods you eat in a day. It’s important that we learn to read these labels, people!

Learn to Cool- I tend to eat unhealthily when I eat at restaurants. That’s why we keep healthy foods in the house. That way we cook and eat well at home, so it’s okay if we’re a little tempted when we eat out. Learn to cook with healthy ingredients. Use healthy alternatives as well. For example, I love making my pesto sauce with avocado instead of olive oil. It’s delicious and creamy, plus there’s less grease in the process. Yum!
