Why 2017 Was the Best Year for Beauty
I have to say, 2017 was probably the best year for beauty….wouldn’t you agree? So many big beauty statements were made – I love it. Keep reading for my favorites from the 2017 beauty scene.
Colorful Eyebrows were a thing!
According to The Blonde Salad, “What happened, you wonder? Gucci happened. Or rather, I had a second look at Gucci’s Spring Summer 2017 fashion show, featuring white, light pink, and yellow eyebrows. And I fell for them. Hard. This ethereal, fresh look is perfect for summer and to remove the “hardness” that dark arches can give to a face. And I’m happy to confirm that my new obsession has been ratified for the Fall Winter 2017-2018 season, as recent fashion shows have featured blue, green, and orange eyebrows… so much beauty!”
My girl Kim Kardashian launched her beauty line
“Kim Kardashian West’s new beauty line, KKW Beauty, launched on Wednesday morning — and to no surprise, some shades were sold out in minutes, bringing in millions for the star. But contrary to the expectations of KarJenner beauty product fanatics (er, Kylie Cosmetics shoppers), the line was available — and easy to purchase — for more than just a few minutes, without the website crashing.” Via People.com

Men became more accepted across the board as beauty guru’s, and that’s awesome. According to Gina Tonic of Bustle, “Makeup artistry is a practice that we should be able to appreciate from folks of any sexuality, any race, any size, and any gender. Male makeup YouTubers, for example, are some of the best MUAs on the video-sharing platform. I mean, the first name that comes to my mind when thinking of any beauty vlogger is Jeffree Star, and I’m comfortable in the knowledge that I will never be as skilled as the androgynous makeup guru.
What I adore about makeup is that it’s accessible to anyone, on any budget or otherwise. Through YouTube, everyone with an internet connection can check out the wonders of makeup as well.”
