3 Tips for Healthier Hair

The time I spent getting my hair done, coupled with my natural curiosity has led me to learn a thing or to about maintaining healthy
hair.  My stylists are probably annoyed by my endless questions.  But I still ask, because I know I’m doing it for a good cause: to pass it on to our readers!

So, here are three tips I absolutely, which I’ve learned along the way.  They’re easy and make a huge difference to help keep your hair
beautiful and shiny—just like you!

  1. Beware of the Round Brush:

Many of us are addicted to blowdrying our hair with a round brush, but the truth is: the tugging from our round brush breaks the hair.  Ironically, when we’re blowdrying our hair, we’re trying to get rid of the frizz, but a round brush causes the damage that
ultimately gives us frizz.  Use a flat paddle brush instead.  It’s much gentler on the hair.

  1. Know How to Condition:

How do you condition your hair?  You just throw the conditioner on after you shampoo, right?  Well, did you know if you throw the conditioner on when your hair is still soaking wet the conditioner doesn’t really work.  The water on your hair tricks the hair into
thinking it is moist, so it won’t let the conditioner work.  It’s best to towel dry your hair (get rid of all the excess water) after you shampoo then add the conditioner.

  1. Food for Locks:

Once again, what we eat is very important for our appearance.  You’ll want to add foods like salmon for its omega-3 fatty acids, green veggies for the vitamin A and C, beans for the protein (which helps the hair grow), nuts for its help in conditioning your hair, and carrots (they help promote a healthy scalp).
