One of the best things you can do for your skin during the winter is gently exfoliating the dry and dead skin cells on the surface to make way for softer, newer skin underneath. Particularly when the weather is dry and cold. It can be hard to carve out some time to head to a spa for a proper beauty ritual. So the next best thing is making your own spa products at home with items you likely already have around the house. For these beauty tips, all you need is some Epsom Salt, your favorite essential oils, and a few basic products. Follow the video at the end of the post for a truly indulgent but very easy DIY lavender body scrub tutorial. It’s time to take a break and give your winter skin a little TLC.

- To heal dry lips: Mix a few tablespoons of Epsom Salt with a teaspoon of petroleum jelly, apply to lips and rub lightly. This will gently scrub away dry skin on lips, and it will also help lipstick last longer and give lips instant plump.
- For a gentle facial: Mix 1/2 teaspoon of Epsom Salt into cleansing cream for a deep-pore cleansing. Massage on skin. Rinse with cool water. Pat dry.
- For a relaxing soak: Add 2 cups of Epsom Salt to the water in a standard-sized bathtub; soak for at least 12 minutes, three times weekly. For an extra treat, add a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a refreshing scent.
