5 DIY Health Checks to Put on Your To-Do List
- Weight. Sudden weight loss or gain can signify a number of health issues, from thyroid disease to cancer. Stay in the know with your normal weight and take note of major changes.
- Skin. Checking your skin regularly for spots, moles or lesions should be part of your regular routine. Self-skin exams can save your life because skin cancer can start with a darkened mole.
- Teeth. Keeping your chompers healthy is a key part of your overall health and abnormalities with your teeth can signify other illnesses. Make sure to get dental check-ups regularly.
- Urine. Your urine can tell you a lot, whether you’re pregnant or have a urinary tract infection, but it can also tell you about more serious issues. If your urine looks abnormal, be sure to see a doctor.
- Breast. Talk to your doctor about how to perform BSE (breast self exams) regularly which can play a part in catching cancer as early as possible.
