If getting ready for work in the morning is a big ordeal for you, surely one of the biggest time suckers is styling your hair. Getting makeup to look great is easy – you can even touch up with a quick swipe of mascara and lipstick in the rear view mirror after parking your car for the day. But,hair? Hair takes time. From blow drying to curling and flat ironing – getting the perfect do for the day requires practice and most of all, patience. In an effort to avoid the top knot and dry shampoo five days in a row, have you ever thought about trying your skills at getting the perfect hairstyle in your sleep? Sounds crazy, right? Well, believe it or not – it works. Here’s a look at how to buy some time in the morning and look great while you’re at it with 5 ways to get the perfect hairstyle in your sleep.
- Did you just leave the salon with a stunning blowout? Make it last another day by pulling your freshly blown out hair into a loose top knot. Go ahead and secure any loose pieces with bobby pins to keep everything in place while you sleep. When you wake up, loosen everything up and spritz with a bit of hairspray. You’ll look great for another day!
- For gorgeous beachy waves, hop in the shower and wash your hair before bed. Be sure to towel dry and divide into a few sections. Twirl each section while adding a quick spritz of tanning oil! (yes! Like the kind you use at the beach!) Twirl until it’s dry and head to bed. Give it a quick shake the next morning and you should look like you just stepped off a day at the beach.
- For some serious volume try spraying a volumizing spray on just washed hair. Then blowdry. Add some big hot rollers and then read a book, watch some t.v. or just hang out for a while. Before heading to bed, use a soft scrunchie to loosely put your hair in a top knot. When you wake up – shake it out – and boom! Volume for days! Add a finishing spray to keep everything in place and you’re good to go!
- For a straight and sleek next day look, wash and blowdry hair at night before heading to bed. Use a soft hair tie (like an old school scrunchie) to create a loose, low pony tail or bun. Keep hair smooth, by wrapping a soft, silk scarf around your hair – sleep with it on! In the morning, a few quick swipes of a flat iron will keep you looking super sleek.
- For bouncy, awesome curls mist your hair all-over with plain water. Start dividing your hair into small one inch sections, twist and roll around your finger all the way to the root. Follow-up by pinning each of these sections in place. Add a silky scarf for some extra protection while you sleep and simply unroll when you wake up. Your vintage curls will be incredible!
