Confidence is a must-have asset to achieve happiness and success. If you were born shy, you wouldn’t necessarily stay shy. Life experiences, pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone, and confidence-building workshops or books can all help you grow your confidence.
#1. Get Healthy
Eating well and regular exercise will boost your mood as much as your confidence. When you feel confident in your own skin, it shines through in every area of your life. When you feel overwhelmed or have an important meeting, you’ll be amazed at how much a workout can upgrade your mindset.
#2. Mind Your Posture
Standing up straight with your shoulders back and your head held high instantly makes increases your confidence levels. Try it and see!
#3. Dress the Part
Whether you need a confidence boost for a meeting or a date, wearing something makes you feel amazing is the real power hack. Ask a few trusted friends for their opinion if you’re sure on your outfit choice. A tailored outfit in a flattering style and hue for your body and complexion will make people stare for all the right reasons.
#4. Hush Negative Self-Talk
We are our own worst critics, and negative self-talk is the ultimate destroyer of confidence. Hush your inner negative voice with positive replacements every time the negativity monster pops into your head.
#5. Take a Time Out
When you have an important meeting or date, take time out at least 20 minutes before to clear your head and get into a positive state of mind. Overwhelm will add to your anxiety and stress levels rendering you nervous, so a time out is the perfect antidote.
#6. Be Prepared
One of the leading causes of anxiety and stress is feeling unprepared for an important meeting or interview. The more prepared you are, the more calm and confident you’ll feel. Always leave extra time to get ready and travel to important meetings to make sure you have time for any unexpected hurdles.
