How to Cover Up Under Eye Circles: 6 Simple Tips

#1. When it comes to combatting that dark blue/purple color of your under eye circles, concealers with a yellow undertone work the best. Look for something a bit lighter than your natural skin tone too – rather than a direct match.

#2. Be sure to apply concealer directly to the area under the eye that is dark. There’s no need to add extra product to other parts of the eye – just cover the dark circle. Typically, the dark coloring will start near the corner of the eye and move down toward the cheekbone. Once you’ve applied (directly to the circle!) continue to blend with a brush or your finger moving out from the dark circle.

#3. If you have dry skin, go with a creamy concealer. The last thing you want is a thick or powdery concealer layering up on top of dry skin – that will draw more attention to those dark circles. Go for something light and creamy that will easily blend with your natural skin tone.

#4. Apply concealer after you have applied foundation and eye makeup. This step is easily confused – with concealer being the first part of the process – but to get the most out of the product, it should be applied after your foundation. If you feel like your makeup looks a bit heavy, top everything off with face mist. It will give you that natural, dewy look you’re after.

#5. You don’t have to use a separate product – foundation works too! If you use foundation in your daily makeup routine, simply put a bit in your hand and use a concealer brush to apply under eyes as you would with a separate concealer product. This is a great natural looking alternative.

#6. A blending sponger or makeup brush can be your best friend. Rather than using just your finger, consider investing in a good brush or blending sponge. After you have applied the concealer with your ring finger, use your sponge or brush to blend the outer edges.
