There’s nothing worse than dry-itchy winter skin that just won’t seem to heal. With a little extra TLC you can get rid of dry skin for good. From lotions to creams to oils, there are lots of options out there to cure dry skin, but some are better than others. Take a look at my favorite ways to get rid of dry skin this winter and let me know if you’ve discovered any good tricks!
6 Ways to Get Rid of Dry Skin This Winter
- Find a lotion you love and keep a bottle everywhere. Next to the kitchen sink, in your purse or wherever you need in order to ensure hydrating lotions are within an arm’s reach.
- Use lukewarm water, rather than hot for showers and washing your hands. Hot water removes moisture from your skin, so for the sake of your skin – keep it on the cool side.
- Don’t forget to exfoliate. Your dry skin will absorb water so much more easily if its freshly renewed and exfoliated. Try a gentle sugar scrub once a week.
- Give a humidifier a try. The humidity will help keep skin soft and moisturized.
- Use creamy cleansers in place of harsh, drying soaps.
- Moisturize lips regularly with lip balm and try something that includes antioxidants and spf.
- Go for natural moisturizers (coconut oil is one of my absolute faves!).
