Finding a way to get recharged during the workday can be super tough. For those of us who sit at a desk or work in front of a computer, it’s especially challenging. And, by the afternoon – it’s a snoozefest! But, lunchtime can best the best time for a little boost. Instead of eating a heavy meal at your desk and guzzling loads of office coffee, check out these ideas for making lunch the most rejuvenating part of your day.
7 Invigorating Lunch Break Ideas
- Walk the parking garage. If there’s nowhere else to walk, the garage is a great option. Get out there and power walk all the levels for a good half hour.
- Turn your desk into a mini spa. Try some essential oils on your temples (I love lavender), condition your hands and elbows with lotion and throw on your headphones with calming music, while taking a few deep breaths.
- Go to the gym. Got a gym by work or even in your building? Jump on the treadmill or hop on a bike for 30 minutes, you’ll feel amazing.
- Jump around! Find a quiet space or go outside to sneak in a few jumping jacks and toe touches!
- Take a nap. I know – this sounds crazy. But sometimes a few extra winks is all you need. Just pop out to your car and recline in one of the seats – it’ll feel great.
- Get outside. Go for a quick walk around the block – even if it’s just 5 to 10 minutes of brisk walking.
- Unplug. Whatever you have to do to stop looking at a computer or talking on a phone – do it.
