Setting your mind on achieving a daily routine for a healthy lifestyle is the first step to making it happen. Step #2: you need a plan! Without a routine for a healthy lifestyle, it will be easy to get off track. By making a plan and creating a system for health, you will do great and feel even better! Here are my tips for what to include in your daily routine for a healthy lifestyle below.
9 Steps to A Healthier Lifestyle
- Get up nice and early. (That means go to bed early too!)
- Incorporate exercise into your morning routine. Even just a short walk to get some fresh air will help kickstart your day.
- Stretch. Even if your morning exercise is as simple as a walk, take some time to stretch it out.
- Eat a healthy breakfast. Try egg whites and a toasted English muffin or whole grain cereal and a serving of Greek yogurt. (don’t forget OPC-3!)
- Plan your day to incorporate at least 8 glasses of water.
- Plan your snacks for the day. Think fruits, veggies and good sources of protein like almonds or yogurt.
- Make the right choices at lunch. (You know what I’m talking about!) Choose salad, light soup or a sandwich on whole grain bread. Eat a lunch that makes you feel good.
- Go for a healthy dinner of veggies and lean protein. Follow it up with an after dinner family walk. It will feel so good.
- Relax and spend time with your family before heading to bed.
