Did you know that you can actually smooth fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes without the help of fillers and surgeries, but by incorporating facial exercises into your daily routine? It’s absolutely true. Call it yoga for the face or calisthenics for the eyes, there’s a number of ways to naturally keep your eyes poppin’ and your skin looking firm and taut. The best news, turns out – if you stick to these exercises on the daily – you’ll start to see results almost immediately.
Try The Eye Opener (via The Daily Mail & Carole Maggio)
For toning“the upper and lower eyelids and reduces under-eye puffiness, making your eyes appear larger, younger and more alert.”
Here’s how: “Place your index fingers together between your brows, then wrap your thumbs lightly around the outer-eye corners, as if you have a pair of sunglasses around your eyes. Squeeze your eyes tightly shut while pulling your two index fingers up slightly between your brows and pulling your thumbs out towards the top of your ears as you do so. Keep your eyes tightly shut — and keep pulling up and out with your fingers so the muscles around your eyes are working continuously against the pressure from your fingers for a count of 40 seconds.”
And, go for the V (via Marie Claire and Danielle Collins)
For helping to lift: “Drooping eyelids, crow’s feet, eye bags and puffiness.”
Here’s how: “Press both middle fingers together at the inner corner of the eyebrows, then with the index fingers, apply pressure to the outer corners of the eyebrows. Look to the ceiling, and raise the lower eyelids upwards to make a strong squint, and then relax. Repeat six more times and finish by squeezing eyes shut tightly for 10 seconds.”
Lately, my skin care routine includes the exercises above, followed by applying Lumière de Vie Eye Balm, which helps to soothe and reduce the appearance of puffiness, while deeply conditioning and hydrating the delicate eye area. If I need extra help, I will put the applicator in the fridge and then gently hold the cold wand over tired bags. The results? An instant lift and a more youthful look – exactly what I’m going for. How about you – have you ever given eye exercises a try?
