Spring Skincare Essentials

If you are reading this, you have made it through the cold winter! It’s finally spring and you know what that means. It’s time to transition our skincare to conquer the new season. The spring brings warmer weather, higher humidity, and time outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Clean out your skincare cabinet and remove the dust and debris built up on your skincare products. Let’s organize your new lineup of products.

Exfoliate.

Buff away the flaky, dead skin from the winter with an exfoliator. As the temperature heats and humidity rises, we are better able to tolerate acids and stronger active component compositions. The Exfoliating Face Scrub from Lumière de Vie will leave your skin feeling smooth and revitalized. It aids in the removal of dead skin cells, excess oil, and the unclogging of pores, giving you that glow!

Lighten up on the moisturizer.

When it comes to Spring skincare, a must-have is a lightweight moisturizer. We may not need as many heavy products to keep our skin hydrated when the temperatures and humidity rise, and heavier creams might feel sticky and oily. Oil management is crucial when it comes to humidity. The Matte Moisturizer from Lumiere de Vie hydrates skin while regulating shine.  This matte lotion also helps to balance out skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while giving the skin a radiant appearance.

Upgrade your SPF.

Sunscreen is to be used year-round. If you didn’t know, now you know. In the spring and summer, increasing the SPF to at least 50+ and ensuring that the products give broad-spectrum protection are critical to guaranteeing appropriate sun protection. The Lumière de Vie Daily Brightening Broad Spectrum SPF 50 protects and cares for your skin. It’s a smooth, quick-absorbing crème that offers strong UVA and UVB protection while also relaxing, brightening, and leveling skin tone. 15 minutes before sun exposure, apply freely. If you’re going swimming or sweating, use water-resistant sunscreen. At least every 2 hours, reapply.

Pump up the antioxidants.

Antioxidants and vitamins found in fruits, veggies, and dark chocolate help protect your skin from free radicals and UV damage, keeping it appearing younger and more vibrant. Antioxidants are found in several fruits and vegetables, as well as healthy levels of vitamins C and E, which can help battle wrinkles. Free radicals are produced when the skin is exposed to UV radiation from the sun, which can damage DNA and speed up the breakdown of collagen and elastin. Eating your antioxidants and using them topically, like the Lumiere de Vie Brightening C-Serum, can contribute electrons to free radicals, stabilizing them and reducing UV damage.
