It’s almost summer time, ladies. That means the sun is hot, the beach is waiting, and your toned legs are going to be out for everyone to see. If you’re anything like me, then you’re going to want those stems to be as toned as my girl, J-Lo’s. That’s why I wanted to give you the inside scoop on some of the best exercises to help work out your calves and thighs.
Lunges and Squats- I consider these moves “old faithful.” They keep your legs and thighs tight and target the exact areas you’re looking to get toned. Not to mention, they’re great for that beach booty.
Squat With A Ball- This will help reach those pesky inner thighs that seem like they’re impossible to work out. Here’s how it works: place an exercise ball between your back and the wall, spread your legs so they’re hip-width apart and then get to squatting.
Lunges With Dumbbells- To update your lunges, maybe add some dumbbells into the mix. All you have to do is hold your dumbbells by your hips and lunge away. These add a little extra something to your usual lunge, so why not give it a boost?
Yoga and Ballet Moves- If you aren’t into traditional moves, then try some moves from another form of exercise. A yoga style sun salutation is great for those thighs and even does a little damage on your arms as well. If you’re more into dance inspired workouts, then barre moves might work best for you. I love a graceful plié or tendu. They work out the thighs, calves and add some stretch as well.
