I have to admit, I am pretty fascinated by the idea of face mapping. A combination of ancient Chinese medicine and modern day dermatology, face mapping says that your organs are related to different areas of your face. The facial zones that correlate with each organ can tell you a lot about what’s going on with your body based on what’s happening with your skin. Pretty interesting, right? Face mapping is a great way to get to the bottom of breakouts – by learning how you can prevent breakouts in the future with different lifestyle and diet changes. Check out these facial zones to learn a little more about where your breakouts are coming from.
Face Mapping 101: Where Are Your Breakouts Coming From?
- The chin. This part of your face is related to your hormones. You may notice more breakouts on and around your chin when you’re ovulating or if it’s around the time of your menstrual cycle.
- Cheeks. If you notice a breakout in this facial zone, it’s related to the respiratory system. Watch out for air pollution and cut back on the smoking!
- Between the eyebrows. Breakouts in this area can be related to food allergies or too many unhealthy foods. Get back on track with your healthy diet to keep this area clear of acne.
- Just above the brows. Related to your immune system, you may notice a breakout right before you catch a cold or get the flu.
- Forehead. This facial zone is aligned with stress and sleep. Make sure you get your z’s to keep this area clear.
