Hairstylist Brian Fisher created a gorgeous yet hairstyle for the singer Julia Michaels at the AMAs. Brian was inspired by the dramatic red gown and toga style dress Julia Michaels wore last night and created a look that would complement both dress styles. He decided on a simple, clean straight look with her hair twisted back off the face – a look Brian calls “Grecian twist back.”

– Prep the hair for styling with John Frieda Luxurious Volume Full Hydration Detangling Mist
– Next, in one-inch sections apply John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster Blow-Dry Lotion, concentrating at scalp
– Then, liberally apply John Frieda Luxurious Volume Perfectly Full Mousse and spread throughout the crown area
– In sections begin blowing the hair out, brushing it back and away from the face using a Mason Pearson, lifting hair to volumize the root and directing the heat down the hair shaft to smooth and straighten the ends
– Once the hair is completely dry, create a deep side part and tuck the lighter side behind the ear. Smooth out the section with John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch Up Crème
– For the other side, create another part from the crown down to the ear and bring the whole section forward toward face – twist the hair back until reaching behind the ear. Secure the section with a long bobby pin
-To finish, smooth the back layers and tame any flyaways with John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch Up Crème
