Reserve Ahead of Time- If you’re a traveler like me, be sure to reserve your spa day in advance. Nothing is worse than arriving to a hotel ready to relax with no spots available at the spa.

Eat Light- If you’re getting a massage, this is imperative. Go for a light meal, no matter what time, try to eat light and stay away from the alcohol. This might make it difficult to relax, which is your main objective on a spa day.

Take a Tour of the Facilities- Ask to take a tour of the facilities, so you get a good look at what you’re getting into. I love to find out what spas offer aside from their spa menu.

Be Clean– You want to be clean during a massage to be polite so be sure to get to the spa ahead to your appointment to shower and clean up. A hot shower can also help relax those tense muscles.

It’s Okay, to Be Honest- If the pressure is too much, tell your masseuse or facialist. This is your time to be comfortable so be honest and speak your mind.
