Grab your gal pals for a group workout.
Hit up your local gym for a Zumba class, or walk around a neighborhood, breathing in the fresh air. Spending time with women you love and admire, while getting your heart rate up, is what National Women’s Health & Fitness Day is all about.
Get your hormones checked.
A simple blood test will show you if you are having any abnormal hormone functions. Make a game plan with your doctor if any of the lab results come back unfavorably.
Eat a delicious, healthy meal.
Fill your plate with greens, healthy fats, and a good source of protein. Whip up a delicious berry-based smoothie for dessert, and snack on homemade trail mix during the day. When you fuel your body with good nutrients, you feel better.
Drink water.
Since you’re celebrating, feel free to jazz up your regular water with cucumbers, mint, and lemon for extra health benefits, and make your taste buds happy while you’re at it.
Take a nap.
When is the last time you took a nap? Let yourself indulge in a few zzz’s today (try to aim for an hour or less) and let your body restore itself.
Treat yourself to a massage.
Not only do massages feel good, they are incredibly beneficial when it comes to our overall stress levels and improving our lymphatic system.
Stretch it out.
Spend a few minutes breathing deeply and stretching out your muscles. Focus on lengthening and strengthening, but don’t push yourself. Make sure it’s a relaxing experience.
