#1. Tumeric Hot Toddy via Adventures in Making
INGREDIENTS
1-2 oz brandy or bourbon
1 tsp turmeric paste
1 tsp honey
1 lemon
Cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise (for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS
In a glass mug, juice ½ lemon and add turmeric paste and honey. Stir to combine. Fill half way with hot water and stir until turmeric/honey is melted. Add 1-2 ounces of brandy or bourbon and top off with more hot water.
Garnish with a lemon wedge, cloves, cinnamon stick and a star anise. Drink hot!
#2. Ginger Lemon Tea via Taste Love Nourish
INGREDIENTS
1 cup water, brought to a boil
4-5 1/8? slices of fresh ginger (use more or less to your taste)
2 teaspoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
1-2 teaspoons honey or pure maple syrup
DIRECTIONS
In your favorite mug, pour the boiling water over the ginger slices. Allow to steep for at least 3 minutes, or if you like the spicy heat of ginger, leave them in. Add the lemon and honey, get under a warm soft blanket and sip slowly.
#3. Turmeric Milk via Pop Sugar
INGREDIENTS
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 teaspoon sweetener of your choice (I used honey)
DIRECTIONS
Combine all the ingredients in a mason jar. Screw the jar’s lid on tight, and shake well for about 2 minutes.
Slowly pour the shaken mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a measuring cup or bowl. Then pour the strained almond milk back into a cup or mug to enjoy immediately.
