Have you been spending a lot of time outdoors in the summer heat? I have and I love it! Working up a good sweat is such a great feeling, but do you ever wonder how much water should you drink in the summer? Staying hydrated is such a challenge, especially when the weather is hot and steamy. It’s even more important for an outdoor workout right now and staying hydrated is key! So, here are my 5 tips for staying hydrated when the weather is hot:
How Much Water Should You Drink in the Summer?
• Staying hydrated means drinking water all the time. I try to drink 64 ounces of water a day (more when I workout!). I keep a water bottle on my desk and I always have one in my purse!
• I like filtered, cold water. Fill up lots of water bottles and keep them in your refrigerator. When it’s time to workout, bring cold water along. You will be so refreshed!
• Know how much is just enough for you. Dehydration can leave you feeling sluggish, tired, and even give you a terrible headache, so make sure you’re feeling good! Stay in tune with your body. Remember, moderation is best.
• Load up on fresh fruits and vegetables – foods with high water content!
• Drink lemon water if you get bored with the lack of taste in plain water.
How much water should you drink in the summer is a question we all ask, but the answer is different for everyone. What are your tips for staying hydrated?
